LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, India.Arie, and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are among the music honorees for the 15th Annual Essence Awards on May 31.

Jackson will take home the inaugural Essence magazine Readers' Choice Entertainer of the Year award. Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, Philadelphia Sound producer-songwriter Kenny Gamble, and Radio One owner Cathy Hughes round out this year's honorees.

The event, hosted by comedian-actor Steve Harvey of the WB's The Steve Harvey Show, will take place at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles and air on Fox on June 6.
