Los Angeles, CA (ROGERS & COWAN) - Prolific, multi-platinum selling hitmaker's, Smash Mouth, a band widely acclaimed for its ultra catchy, melodically infectious, hybrid-sound which blends punk, ska, surf, rock and pop, are set to self-release Summer Girl on September 19 on their very own Beautiful Bomb Records (RED Distribution), produced by Jeff Saltzman (The Killers) and longtime collaborator Eric Valentine. The ultimate, true-to-life, party band that is all about fun, is back with more high energy voltage, including new single 'So Insane' set to impact radio this week, while also featured in the Revolution/Sony film 'Zoom' starring Tim Allen and Courtney Cox. The band's first single 'Story Of My Life' remains Top 20 at Hot AC Radio. Meanwhile, the band's classic hits and timeless appeal have endured the test of time. Smash Mouth has proven staying power.

The group has sold more than two million copies of their self-made debut Fush Yu Mang, featuring the No 1 Modern Rock Radio hit - 'Walkin' In The Sun,' however, it was the release of 1999's Astro Lounge that set up the pop pinnacle with lead single 'All Star' topping three national radio charts and hitting No 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Astro Lounge sold more than 3 million copies and climbed to No 6 on the album sales charts. The group's self-titled third album, though released in the unfortunate wake of September 11, went Gold, and produced fun-loving tracks' 'Pacific Coast Party,' (with the remix hitting the Top 20 on the Dance/Club chart) and 'I'm A Believer' which was prominently featured in the film 'Shrek.' The group's music remains popular with film and television music supervisors, racking up such big screen credits as 'Austin Powers in Goldmember,' 'Ed TV,' 'Clockstoppers,' 'Inspector Gadget,' 'Can't Hardly Wait,' 'Mystery Men' and 'Rat Race' among several others. Collectively, Smash Mouth has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.

Summer Girl is the band's fifth studio album and is the first self-released project on their new imprint, Beautiful Bomb Records. The band first gained acclaim with the popularity of their 'Nervous In The Alley' demo track at hometown San Jose radio station KOME. They quickly blew up when KROQ added 'Walkin' In The Sun' off their self-made debut Fush Yu Mang, which was picked up by Interscope Records, whom they've recently parted company with.

Smash Mouth has been together for 12 solid years as a band, with the three co-founding members in tact including frontman Steve Harwell, guitarist Greg Camp and bassist Paul DeLisle, nearly 10 years after emerging on the national scene with their first number No 1 hit. New drummer Jason Sutter (American Hi-Fi/The Rembrandts) who joined the group in March '06 completes the mix.
