Long Island, NY (Manny Faces Music) - Manny Faces, renowned for producing popular remixed versions of commercially released songs, will debut a weekly Podcast, 'Manny Faces Presents: Topical Paradise - R&B,' beginning Tuesday,
September 26, 2006. Each episode will consist of a 45-minute, R&B 'mixshow,' centering on a particular topic, which will vary week to week.
'The idea isn't new,' states Manny. 'It already occurs on a couple of shows in radio, and has been conceptualized on 'mixtapes' and in other media. My plan is to do it with my taste of song selection, creativity and soul. The topics for each week's show will be clever and entertaining, and I believe this will be a perfect addition to any music lover's playlist.'
Weekly topics will include the playful, such as 'Singers That Start With the Letter 'B'', to the more serious, tribute-based 'Gone, But Not Forgotten,' celebrating artists who have passed on, to concept based, such as 'Songs That Tupac Sampled From', a showcase of original tunes from where an artist of today drew their musical inspiration. Each episode's playlist will typically span several decades of R&B and Soul.
The debut week revolves around scandals of the heart. "Episode One: Affairs to Remember" features a track list of forbidden love, showcasing songs such as Luther Ingram's "If Loving You Is Wrong", Shirley Brown's "Woman to Woman", Ronald Isley's "Contagious" and John Legend's "She Don't Have To Know". 'This is a perfect example of how I plan to bring together quality, multi-era R&B,' Manny explains. To commemorate the debut, music from the first show, along with additional songs on the topic, will be downloadable as a free, full-length, extended mix-CD.
Manny asserts, 'I'm going to continue to produce music and put out the quality remixes I've become known for, but since my DJ and radio days, I've enjoyed that feeling of entertaining listeners through a well-executed playlist, and I think people are going to like what I bring to the table.'
