Montreal, Canada (Oh! Records) - Oh! Records is proud to present accomplished sound designer and electronic artist, Timothy Allan's third single, "Swedish Prestige" (OH-U015).
"Swedish Prestige" has been receiving airplay on Kiss100 FM in Australia and other stations including DJ Soto's Radio show on Ignitesystems. The Original Mix is a smooth and bouncy journey into progressive house. D:Facto's Remix is a luscious exploration into progressive house with pulsating pads and driving electro synths.
DJ and Progressive Sounds reviewer, Chloe Harris says, "I enjoy the slidy synths and the mood. The beats are nice - ploddy prog with good elements." Two tracks definitely worth checking out!
About Timothy Allan:
Allan first discovered electronic music in the mid 1980's after hearing songs composed in the almost extinct method of computer 'tracking'. Discovering the underground, pre-Internet BBS scene that traded and created these files would prove to be instrumental in furthering Allan's creative development. Initially using computer and software technologies to create compositions, Allan eventually felt limited by the restrictions of the medium and began to explore other avenues of production.
In 2002, with the acquisition of a synthesizer workstation, studio monitors, a four-track recorder, and a small drum machine, Allan began to write using physical instrumentation rather than computer-generated sound. He continues to explore and extend the boundaries of this medium and works to produce music from his private studio.
After moving to Australia in 2004, he merged his hardware with software in order to take advantage of the unique benefits that each have to offer. Now, with the convergence of the two technologies, he has found a musical vehicle that is truly limited only by imagination.
Timothy is fast garnering a solid reputation in the electronic music scene. He has received accolades from Future Music, Sound On Sound, as well as the Dutch music mag, Interface, for his sample rom, "Housematic". In addition, interviews with radio/podcast guru Jeremiah Jacobs and KissFM Melbourne, as well as SBS' Noise TV covering him during a live gig at aLive, all point to the fact that his star is on the rise! This is definitely one artist to keep your ears open to now and in future!
