LOS ANGELES (By Sharrin Summers/ Hollywood Records Media) - Sparta's much-buzzed-about new album THREES is set to premiere on MySpace (https://www.myspace.com/sparta) on October 19 and will be in-stores on October 24. The video for lead single "Taking Back Control," will include footage from the upcoming thriller "The Invisible," in theaters on January 26, 2007.

Sparta is currently on tour and giving fans a sneak preview of THREES. Rolling Stone praised it as "a dark, brawny record with intricate layers." Alternative Press wrote: "...Sparta finally seem intent on realizing their destiny as an arena-filling, life-changing band." Revolver called the album's melodies "irresistible" and lauded the band for combining elements of "early Radiohead and U2 with a turbulence reminiscent of My Chemical Romance."

The video clip for the lead single "Taking Back Control," directed by Jon Watts (TV On The Radio, Death Cab For Cutie, The Thrills), was shot in an abandoned mall in Hawthorne, CA, and features an explosive performance by the band against a stark, gritty backdrop. It also features footage from the upcoming supernatural thriller, "The Invisible." The film, directed by David Goyer ("Batman Begins"), opens January 26th and spotlights the Sparta song during a crucial scene and will also incorporate the band and track into its TV advertising campaign.

In other news, Sparta is participating in the "Rock for Darfur" humanitarian campaign. The band will be donating a portion of ticket sales from their October 21st show in Lancaster, PA, to Oxfam's Sudan Crisis Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.
