BURBANK, CA. (Hollywood Records) - Hollywood breakout artists Plain White T's have won mtvU's coveted "Breaking Woodie," a "Best Emerging Artist" category in which they were nominated alongside the Arctic Monkeys, Chamillionaire, Imogen Heap and Lupe Fiasco.

"Hey There Delilah," the Chicago-based quintet's hook-laden hit was also nominated for the "Streaming Woodie," a category honoring groups with the most downloads.

The Woodies were created by mtvU, MTV's 24-hour college network, and they're the only awards honoring music voted best by the college audience. "The fact that the winners are based on college student votes makes this really special," says T's frontman Tom Higgenson. "These kids are making their voices heard and letting us know that our music matters to them and that's just an unbelievable feeling. Thanks to everyone who voted for us."

The Plain White T's (vocalist Tom Higgenson, guitarists Dave Tirio and Tim Lopez, bassist Mike Retondo and drummer De'Mar Hamilton) are currently on the Nintendo Fusion Tour with Hawthorne Heights in support of Hollywood Records debut EVERY SECOND COUNTS.

The album is generating heavy buzz thanks to lead single "Hate (I Really Don't Like You)," which is garnering major airplay alongside its companion video, which is in heavy rotation on MTV, MTV2, MTV Hits, mtvU, Fuse and will be a "First Look" clip on MTV's TRL on November 8. The T's are also currently being spotlighted as an MTV's "Discover & Download" artist.
