Taylor Swift Debuts #3 on Top Country Albums Chart

Nashville, TN (Big Machine Records) -– Big Machine Records artist Taylor Swift has made a big impact on country music in just a few short months with her debut single “Tim McGraw,” which holds the #11 position on the Mediabase country chart and #14 on the Billboard/R&R chart. The 16-year-old songwriter and singer�s self-titled debut album was released last Tuesday and sold nearly 40,000 copies in just six days. Comparable first week sales were rung up by The Wreckers and Miranda Lambert, whose debut albums have achieved gold certification. The album is #19 on the Billboard Top 200 all-genre album chart. Taylor Swift has held the #1 spot on the iTunes country album and single charts since its release.

Taylor, who appeared on Good Morning America and The Megan Mullally Show on her album�s release day, will perform her hit single on this Saturday�s episode of Fox and Friends. The show, which airs from 7:00-10:00 am ET, features an acoustic performance of “Tim McGraw” from Taylor , who wrote all 11 of the songs on her album.

Taylor continues shows this week as the opener for the current Rascal Flatts “Me and My Gang” Tour. The gang will be in Toronto , Canada , Buffalo , NY and Albany , NY .
