London, UK (V2 Music) - London quartet Acoustic Ladyland are fixed to release their brilliant third album 'Skinny Grin' on Monday (27 Nov). The album was mixed by Scott Walker and produced by Paul Epworth and Robert Harder who also worked on their 2005 'Last Chance Disco'. If you've not yet heard Acoustic Ladyland be prepared to be knocked to the floor with their jazz-but-not mixture of post-punk and genre-bending musicianship. Based upon their mutual distaste for jazz sterility and respect for Jimi Hendrix (hence the name), Acoustic Ladyland have been rattling minds since inception in 2001. The band is Pete Wareham (saxophone/vocals) with Seb Rochford (of Mercury-nominated Polar Bear) on thunderous drums, Tom Herbert (bass) and Tom Cawley (keys). In Wareham?s own words he wanted to find a place that was as ?musically substantial as Coltrane, but was as much fun as 'Waiting For My Man' by The Velvet Underground. You can catch the band at their album launch on the 5th of December at London's Islington Academy. A full UK tour is set for February 2007.
