Los Angeles, CA (Rogers & Cowan) -
Aaron Lewis, frontman of Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum selling rock band STAIND, is set to embark on a unique, solo acoustic tour kicking off December 27 through February 9, armed solely with guitar, allowing fans to experience the iconic singer/songwriter in an intimate, one-of-a-kind setting. Lewis, who is widely renowned as one of the most relevant and prolific artists of his generation, will perform both
Staind hits and favorite cover tunes, while customizing his set list on the spot to keep the evening fresh and spontaneous. The highly dynamic performer, who completely captivated a generation (and then some) with his solid MTV Unplugged performance, guarantees that no two shows will be alike.
Flip/Atlantic Records has just released Staind's first-ever hits collection entitled The Singles: 1996-2006, along with the simultaneous release of a separate companion DVD, Staind: the Videos. The 16-track recording features such No 1 rock radio staples as "It's Been Awhile," "For You," "So Far Away," and "Right Here," along with never-before released live acoustic cover versions of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," Tool's "Sober," Alice In Chains' "Nutshell," and a live, acoustic version of "Everything Changes." The version of "Outside" appearing on the album is also the same original cut that was included on the Family Values Tour 1999 with Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst.
To date, Staind has sold more than 15 million records worldwide, with its last three albums entering the Billboard 200 in the No 1 spot. 2005's Chapter V has been certified RIAA platinum and features the single "Right Here," which marked the group's fourth No 1 rock radio track.
Still living in Western Massachusetts where he grew up, Lewis has not forgotten his roots. He recently returned to his hometown of Longmeadow, MA and donated his time for a special concert to benefit the school's creative arts department with all proceeds going directly to the school's art and music programs. Off the clock, he is a dedicated family man who designed his own home in rural MA and enjoys hunting and fishing. Lewis is also an extreme guitar aficionado, with a quarter million dollar collection of prized vintage Gibson Les Paul guitars. He is a loyal Gibson player, with a continuously expanding collection.
