(Days Awake Official Website) - In a move that represents a symbolic as well as a very real bridge from the original Asbury Park rock scene to the current scene, Days Awake has announced that they are joining forces with the legendary rocker Lance Larson for two shows in December. The band will play at Asbury Park's Wonder Bar (which Larson co-owns) on Friday, December 8, before joining Lance onstage for the sold-out S.O.A.P. (Sounds of Asbury Park) show the next night at The Stone Pony. Days Awake was recently named Top Rock Band at the 14th annual Asbury Music Awards. It was their second straight win in that category. Larson was awarded the 2005 James McDonald Lifetime Achievement Award at the prior year's awards ceremony. Larson is perhaps best known as the front-man of the renowned Asbury band Lord Gunner. His most recent album, "To Make a Long Story Short", featured guest appearances by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and Gary Tallent, among others. "We are so honored that Lance asked us to play these shows with him", said Days Awake guitarist Dom Lacquaniti. "Anyone who has heard Days Awake play or spoken to us knows that we have a real sense of history, and a real appreciation for the musicians who came before us. Lance is living history, but at the same time he's as vital and energetic as any musician on the scene today. We are really excited about playing with him, and to seeing some of the pioneers of our scene perform." Days Awake plays with a take-no-prisoners attitude producing real, passionate rock and roll behind a redemptive and inspirational view of the powers of music that challenges listeners to try and stop dancing. Days Awake is Jeremy Korpas, lead guitar; Sarah Tomek, drums; Eric Safka, keyboards; Dom Lacquaniti, rhythm and slide guitar; and Jay Cagna, bass.
