Seattle, WA (SINister Records) - The brand new CD by Seattle post-punks Jupiter Crash, "The Skin Before the Art," was officially released on 12/31/06 by independent label SINister Records (www.SINisterRecords.com). Following quickly on the heels of their 2005 debut EP, "Fell from the Hotel," "The Skin Before the Art" offers eleven tracks of vigorous 80s-tinged post-punk and features many dark surprises. A touch more punk-rock and less brit-pop than its predecessor, "The Skin Before the Art" is evidence of the band's versatility and staying-power in a fickle and ever-changing musical climate. "The Skin Before the Art" was produced by Jonathan Plum and recorded at Seattle's legendary London Bridge Studios (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc.). Key cuts on the album include "Dark Surprise," a raw and ominously potent song which will be targeted to rock radio as the first single, as well as "Descent," "Sinners and Losers," and "Cry Out Loud," a dark epic track with a vibe reminiscent of Bauhaus or an early Cult. The release of "The Skin Before the Art" will be celebrated with an official CD Listening Party on Saturday, February 10, 2007 to be held at the Capitol Hill Arts Center (CHAC) in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. Frontman Steven Parsons' idea behind this avant garde type of event (as opposed to a traditional live-band release show) is to give fans an opportunity to meet and network with the band while "The Skin Before the Art" is spun in its entirety by the city's premier deathrock/postpunk club jockey, DJ Coldheart. Coldheart will also be featuring cuts by other SINister Records artists, and the label will be on hand offering copies of "The Skin Before the Art" for sale to partygoers. "The Skin Before the Art" is available for purchase directly from the label at www.SINisterRecords.com, and also at major on-line retailers such as Amazon.com and CDBaby.com. Wider physical retail distribution coming in Spring 2007.
