Music Australia) - After packing major venues right around the world during 2006 WOLFMOTHER have announced that they will return home in March / April for a handful of very special concerts.
It's been a triumphant year for the Sydney trio with over a million global sales for their acclaimed debut album and the accolades are still rolling in.
Internationally, their CD made the Best Albums lists in Spin, NME and U.S. Rolling Stone for 2006, while the band was nominated for a Pollstar Concert Industry Award in the category of Best New Touring Artist.
The trio has also been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Release, and nominated for The Brits in the International Breakthrough section which will be announced on Feb 14th.
Here at home WOLFMOTHER swept the ARIA Awards late last year (including the Best Group Award) and they were also handed the gong for the publicly voted Channel V Oz Artist of the Year. They recently blitzed the Falls and Southbound festivals propelling their album back into the Aussie top 10 an extraordinary 60 weeks after its initial release!
Now 2007 will start in the same way that 2006 finished … with lots more WOLFMOTHER touring.
The band will hit the ground running in Japan for a whirlwind run of dates at the end of this month, before heading back to the UK, Europe and Canada in February/March to play their largest headline tour of those markets to date including sold out shows at London's famous Hammersmith Apollo.
They will then head home for this very special tour in March/April. Special guests on the band's own shows will be post punk sonic rockers Wolf & Cub who are also touring with Wolfmother on most of their overseas dates.
