BURBANK, CA (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - One of the most exciting young bands to emerge from the U.K. in recent years, THE CRIBS have signed to Warner Bros. Records in the U.S. Comprised of three brothers (two are twins), THE CRIBS are a classic guitar/bass/drums power punk trio from Wakefield in Northern England.

They have toured the world extensively in support of two critically revered independent albums released on the Wichita label, "The Cribs" (Jan. 2005), and "The New Fellas" (Aug. 2005). Tour mates have included Death Cab For Cutie, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Stephen Malkmus and Franz Ferdinand, both overseas and in North America last year.

So taken with the band's highly frenetic live performance and infectious pop sensibility, Franz Ferdinand vocalist/songwriter Alex Kapranos volunteered to produce the band's next studio effort. As reported in the NME, Kapranos quoted: "The Cribs have that raw energy and attitude punk should have, but they also have one of the greatest senses of melody among any band around."

Sessions for the upcoming album began in November 2006 in Vancouver, BC, and will finish shortly in New York City. The album will be mixed by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, etc.), and artwork will be done by Jamie Reid, the original art director/artist for the Sex Pistols. Look for their Warner Bros. Records album debut this spring. U.S. tour dates are expected to follow.
