Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Great American Country) - It was a year when e-mail wasn't even a word, a postage stamp cost a quarter, the President of the United States pronounced that he didn't like broccoli…and an extraordinary group of young artists – led by Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Clint Black – ignited a country music revolution. Do you remember the year? Those are the kinds of facts Great American Country (GAC) will explore each week in the new program The Year, hosted by Equity Music Group recording artist Mark Wills. The premiere episode airs January 24 at 9 p.m. ET. Set against a backdrop of fun facts about world events, pop culture, and entertainment news, The Year takes a look back at those moments that defined us then and shape us now – the music and memories of years past. "Music has always been one of the best memory triggers for me," noted Wills. "I hear a song, and I am instantly flooded with memories- where I was when I first heard the song, how it made me feel, what was going on in my life at the time. This show puts it all in perspective, and we do it in a fun and lighthearted way." Each week the show will take GAC viewers on a musical journey through the past with a clever blend of historical fact and whimsy, accented by that year's top country music videos. Wills' new single 'Take It All Out On Me' debuted at 54 on the country singles charts this week. The song is off his forthcoming 2007 album release. For more information, visit www.markwills.com.
