Imagine a jam session with Carlos Santana and Stevie Ray Vaughan and you come close to the remarkable sound Rick Lugo and his band have achieved. Fusing blues and rock with a latin vibe, Los Gallos have built up a large following in their home state of Texas. These uniquely talented musicians form a band that are greater than the sum of their parts, and have received a host of rave reviews for Getting The Groove. The band have a healthy respect for the latin-rock tradition started by the likes of Carlos Santana, with their ultimate ambition to appear at the latin Grammies playing on stage with the great man himself. A testament to Los Gallos' music is that Maria Marisol was recently selected to appear on Operation: Rock The Troops, a compilation released on Bare Metal Records. The CD is to be sent to American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Maria Morisol was selected for inclusion from thousands, and is the only song in Spanish on the album. Houston International Music Conference and Festival Further recognition for the band came when they were selected to perform at the Houston International Music Conference and Festival on February 1-4 2007. The event draws thousands of musicians, fans and industry professionals and is one of the largest music conferences in Texas. Los Gallos will be performing at the Grand Finale.
