CRAWFORD, Neb. (Willie Nelson Fans Website) - The new promoter of a late summer concert featuring Willie Nelson is trying to ease concerns about the event. Questions about the legitimacy of the Aug. 31 concert were raised when the original promoter began soliciting money from Crawford-area businesses. A longtime Nelson associate, Tim O'Connor of the Austin, Texas-based firm Direct Events, stepped in as promoter. He reassured Crawford residents and business owners Thursday that his company is legitimate. He was trying to finalize a concert venue. The original location, the Hageman Ranch near Crawford, remains under consideration but O'Connor said Crawford's rodeo grounds is another possible site. Nelson and Billy Joe Shaver are confirmed for the concert, O'Connor said. Pam Tillis and Hank Williams III were previously announced but are not confirmed.
