MIAMI, Fl. (Top40 Charts) - R&B singer
Usher has been nominated for eight awards at the second annual
Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, scheduled to take place August 9 at the
Billboard-American Urban
Radio Networks R&B/Hip-Hop Conference in Miami Beach.
Usher competes for the top R&B/hip-hop album, top R&B/hip-hop single, top R&B/hip-hop artist, and top R&B/hip-hop male artist, among other titles. Ja Rule received six nominations, Aaliyah and Alicia Keys received five, and Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige received four.
While Mariah Carey's album Glitter was considered a flop, the album's debut single "Loverboy" featuring Da Brat and Ludacris, is up for the top R&B/hip-hop singles sales award.
