Modest Mouse Sets Release Date For New Album 'We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank'

NEW YORK,NY. (Top40 Charts/ Permanent Press) - The new Modest Mouse album, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, is set for release on Epic Records on March 20. The new album was produced by Dennis Herring (Good News for People Who Love Bad News) and recorded in Oxford, Mississippi at Sweet Tea studios and Portland, OR at Audio Alchemy. We Were Dead is the follow up to the band's 2004 album Good News For People Who Love Bad News which included the hit 'Float On,' has sold over 1.5 million copies and earned the band two Grammy nominations.

The newly released first single, 'Dashboard,' has already shot to No 8 at Alternative radio and is in the Top 20 at AAA radio. The new video was directed by Motion Theory (Beck 'Girl', HP JayZ ads). Pre-orders of the album began at iTunes on January 30 and immediately entered the Top 10 on the Album Chart. All those who pre-order the album will receive 'Dashboard' immediately as well as a clip of 'The Making of the Dashboard video.'

Modest Mouse will embark on some US pre-release dates in March (below) and announce plans of a World Tour shortly.
