SEATTLE, Wa. (Top40 Charts/ Oncor Entertainment) - Multi Platinum artists Candlebox, best known for the singles 'You,' 'Far Behind,' 'Change,' and 'Simple Lessons' announce their intention to reschedule the upcoming 'She's a Butterfly' Fundraiser for Autism. The benefit was slated for Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the St.
George Theatre in Staten Island, N.Y. All proceeds from the charity performance are designed for the Parents of Autistic Children (POAC).
'We really want to make this a truly special event for POAC. So we decided to call some of our friends in the industry with the purpose of making a lot of money for this fine and deserving organization,' said Kevin Martin lead singer for Candlebox. 'We have an opportunity to make an already great concert even better by adding some friends to the bill. POAC has done so many great things for children with autism and we want to do something really big for them' he added.
Candlebox Management, Kevin Lee and Bryan Coleman of Union Entertainment Group are assisting people at POAC with the process of organizing the particulars for this renewed project. Details regarding a new date and time are to be announced shortly. Ticket holders for the original date should keep their tickets and await further information, which should be within a week.
'We're so excited to have Candlebox performing for us,' stated POAC President, Gary Weitzen. 'It's so important to reach the younger generations about autism and what our Organization's trying to do to help. What a better way than through the great music and support of groups like Candlebox?'
POAC, (www.poac.net) a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization who provides scientifically based training to parents, teachers, law enforcement and related personnel who provide direct services to children with autism, hopes to raise funds through tickets sales, a Silent Auction of autographed and collectible memorabilia, and donations through an ad journal to be distributed for that evening.
After a 6 year hiatus, all four original band members Kevin Martin, Peter Klett, Bardi Martin, and Scott Mercado have reunited and made plans to release their first album of new material in seven years this summer. Candlebox fans are waiting for the much anticipated release of a live concert DVD called 'Alive in Seattle' also due out this summer.
