NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) - OK, here's how it's gonna go down: We're supplying kernels of info giving you a taste of music we have coming. You likee? Then get popping!

M.I.A.

BacAAWWW! BacAAWWW! That "Bird Flu" song is insane what a teaze of the upcoming full-length due June. Maya Arulpragasam's one rhythmic call-to-arms giving us one hell-of-a raucous globe-trotting beat. Both Spin and URB mags dubbed her 2005's artist of the year, while Blender declared Arular album of the year, the little bongostomping dancehall queen. Catch her at Sasquatch May 12 and in the meantime check out the video directed in South India at https://www.miauk.com. That's nothing - in the last year the Sri-Lankan born Maya has recorded tracks in Tamil Nadu, Trinidad and Tobago. Oh, and Miami. With Timbaland, Switch, Danja and more. https://www.myspace.com/mia

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE

"Dark, hard and electrical, sort of like a construction worker," says Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme on the band's new album that's gonna be called Era Vulgaris and is coming June. Prodded by NME last year for details, Homme said, "That's not a healthy question. You'll ruin the surprise." So that's all we're going to say, 'cept some say guest performers include Trent Reznor, Mark Lanegan, Billy Gibbons, Julian Casablancas and Erma Bombeck. Baby Duck loves a family affair! Watch them at work at https://www.qotsa.com

MARILYN MANSON

Manson is close to wrapping up work on the band's upcoming album with the title announced as Eat Me, Drink Me. Time magazine has called him "rock's most piercing critic;" he has called himself The God of F*ck and Antichrist Superstar. Possibly more guitar-oriented and rhythmically-driven, Eat Me, Drink Me comes out on June and will be followed by a world tour. Stand by for further instruction. https://www.marilynmanson.com.

THE PIPETTES

Go Polkadot! Go Motown, Stax and Philly Soul! Go The Pipettes! Exuberant harmonies from singers with really cool names like RiotBecki, Rosay, and Gwenno come from the latest U.K. indie pop chart sensation The Pipettes. The trio's debut album, We Are The Pipettes, comes out June on Cherrytree/Interscope. In the meantime look for their take on Valley of the Dolls and catch them at SXSW, where they will most definitely be looking out for you. They heard that you bite. https://www.thepipettes.co.uk

FEIST

Leslie Feist finally delivers the official follow-up to her breakthrough 2004 debut, Let It Die. The Canadian singer-songwriter spent most of last year in Europe working on the May release of The Reminder with shady characters like Gonzales, Mocky, Jamie Lidell, and Renaud Letang, taking just few breaks to release the remix and rarities disc, "Open Season," sing backing vocals on Peaches' Impeach My Bush and collect a whole bunch of Juno Awards. Whew! Visit https://www.listentofeist.com.

MICKEY AVALON

Who's got "a slick, languid flow and uproarious rhymes about pansexual, drug-addled adventures as a Hollywood slime bucket" Why, it's Mickey Avalon as Blender nailed him. Avalon's self-titled debut has been getting tons of attention thanks to the request line-jamming new single, "Jane Fonda." The Los Angeles glam rapper recently shot a video for the track which somehow pays homage to Soul Train and sleaze in one fell swoop. Avalon will spend the next few months on the road throughout the US and Australia, with stops at SXSW and The Bamboozle. https://www.mickeyavalon.com.

THE HIVES

We knew it all along. There's only one band truly capable of delivering The World's First Perfect Album. That would be the band with the most scissor kicks, stage dives and color-coordinated suits per capita - the Hives! This fall the Swedish garage rockers follow-up 2004's Tyrannosaurus Hives, and it is reported they are looking fitter than ever. The Hives also recently took some time out to sing and play guitars on a track called "Put It On Me" for the forthcoming Timbaland album. Yes, Timbaland! See the signature methods on a behind-the-swedes video at https://www.hivesmusic.com

KENNA

Kenna is in the studio with Chad Hugo of The Neptunes once again, working on his second album, Make Sure They See My Face. The June 5 follow-up to the Ethiopian-born musician's critically lauded debut, New Sacred Cow, will include the single "Out of Control (State of Emotion)," which premiered on iTunes in December. Lauded is a good thing, right? https://www.kennakenna.com

TV ON THE RADIO

TV On The Radio topped just about every year-end critics poll (hello, Rolling Stone, New York Times and, um, People) with its genre-defying second album, Return To Cookie Mountain. Spin Magazine even put the quintet on the cover of its "Best of 2006" issue, calling the disc "an hour you could spend a lifetime in." Check MTV and MTV2 for the video for the group's latest single, "The Province." In the meantime, TVOTR will spend the next few weeks on the road showing everyone what all the fuss is about and quite possibly racking up more honors: an Oscar, Nobel Peace Prize, three Michelin Stars, maybe even a "No. 1 Mom" T-Shirt. The possibilities are endless. https://www.tvontheradio.com

WOLFMOTHER

That is Grammy-Award winners Wolfmother to you!! Woofies' "Woman" beat out stadium bands Nine Inch Nails, System of a Down and Tool for the gold. They found it surreal. Last year the Aussie band won over countless fans through video games (Guitar Hero II, Tony Hawk's Project 8) and movies (Jackass: Number Two) - but most of the damage was done on the road, where band played unforgettable sets at places like the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the U.K. and Lollapalooza in, er, right here. And everyone wants to take your picture when you write cool songs like the new single "White Unicorn." Think the band is ready for a break? Not so fast. Wolfmother is already gearing up to go back on the road, with a handful of dates scheduled through June and July before going back down under. https://www.wolfmother.com

YEAH YEAH YEAHS

Couldn't do this without mentioning our favorite suns The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and their Grammy Nomination for "Show Your Bones." Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase are hard at work on a new album at the moment because they love you! https://www.yeahyeahyeahs.com

SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST

About the time you were picking out a Halloween costume some punk booked the last downtown Austin hotel room for SxSW '07. This same person has already filed their taxes. If like us you lack unhuman prescience and will be crashing in a Hare Krishna's tent out by the airport, make sure this year's trip to TX is worth it by not missing any of the bands below. (Even if you are have the Yellow Rose penthouse suite at the Driskill catch these shows with the kids, and please offer us a couch). Put a star next to everything:
