Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Yessir Records) - 'Southern rock' was once a term used merely to describe music from a particular region, but with Yessir Record's LAIDLAW the term not only depicts the band's birthplace but it also illustrates their musical style. With influences stemming from Lynyrd Skynyrd,
Led Zeppelin and Bad Company, the opening act for
ZZ Top is making headlines with their captivating live performance.
'We're proud to say we play the style music we were brought up on,' says frontman, guitarist, and producer Craig DeFalco. 'Not jumping on a band wagon for the sake of making a quick buck.'
Handpicked by DeFalco, LAIDLAW is a story of true determination. From playing the club circuit in hometown of Houston, Texas to touring as the opening act in arenas for Mötley Crüe, Scorpions, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, and most recently ZZ Top, LAIDLAW continues to build their fan base and grow in the business of making music.
Having recently released The Foam Box Sessions in fall of 2006, the band is quickly gaining recognition. Produced and engineered by infamous Joe Hardy (known for ZZ Top and Steve Earl), songs such as 'Revolution Is Coming,' featuring Van Halen's Michael Anthony on background vocals, and 'Sunshine Woman' are demanding a huge response from audiences.
'Our main focus is to play live and let people discover our music,' says DeFalco. And that's exactly what they're doing.
Beginning in April LAIDLAW will be opening for ZZ Top on a series of dates. Additional information is available by visiting www.laid-law.com or www.myspace.com/laidlaw.
