Master American Songwriter Jeff Finlin to Release 'Angels In Disguise' April 3, 2007

NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Wea/ Korova Records) - With the Rykodisc debut release of Jeff Finlin's "Angels In Disguise" on April 3, 2007, U.S. audiences will be introduced to a natural Americana poet with raw, emotional honesty and intensity. The skillfully composed roots-rock inflected album is, at its core, the inner-reflection of a man coming to terms with his life. A vivid and poetic storyteller, Finlin's music breathes life with a down-home, every-man appeal. It recalls the work of Randy Newman, Tom Waits and other pioneering American artists who have channeled their personal world experiences through their own distinctive voices.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, the grandson of Irish railroad workers, Jeff Finlin's songs are littered with the American landscape. Stories of travels, late nights and a deeper insight into American living are recurring themes throughout his music - which has been likened to that of John Hiatt, Bob Dylan and Dr. John.

Uncut magazine has described Finlin as, "a real find," and the Chicago Sun-Times wrote, "Finlin writes with the minimalist grit of Sam Shepard and Raymond Carver - tune in and you will hear an elusive magic."

"This album means a lot to me as it comes from my own experience. The soundscapes and characters contained within glow like hot coal in my heart and in my mind," explains Finlin. "The result of this album comes from a journey I took into the depths of my own psyche where I discovered a few things along the way. Namely, about what happens to us when we smash all the illusions, ideals, ideas, dreams, images and romance we have about ourselves and our surroundings. And, what do we do with ourselves after we find that truth? What gifts do we find there?"

Finlin's musical career began as he was hitchhiking throughout America, playing in various bands from Ohio to Boston. Eventually, he settled in Nashville with long-time collaborator Gwil Owen where they formed the rock band the Thieves. He went on to produce his self-released "Lonely Light" before going on to produce the Little Dog Mercury release "Highway Diaries."

Next it was on to New York, where Jeff enlisted the likes of Mark Ribot (Tom Waits and Elvis Costello) and Tony Garnier (Bob Dylan), to produce "Original Fin." In 2002, he saw the release of the highly acclaimed "Somewhere South of Wonder," which earned him the Album of the Year on Virgin Radio's Captain America show and an opening slot touring with Steve Earle in the UK and Ireland.

His newest album, "Angels In Disguise," was recorded in Colorado (Finlin's current home base) and Nashville with long-time cohorts Will Kimbrough and Pat Buchanan. It is the culmination of his many travels and life experiences. Its moods are many, roving through the varied highs and lows of life.
