NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Manhattan Records) - Founding member of the band Split Enz and former member of Crowded House, Tim Finn emerges with his first solo album since the critically-acclaimed 2001 What Are Records? release FEEDING THE GODS. IMAGINARY KINGDOM, Finn's first album for EMI's Manhattan Records will release on April 24, 2007 and is filled with well-crafted songs about love, life and loss all set to rich and infectious melodies. Produced and recorded in Nashville by Bobby Huff (Jordan McCoy/LeAnn Rimes/Julian Lennon) IMAGINARY KINGDOM features 12 songs that delve into Tim's personal experiences and occasionally take a visually-inspiring cue from Finn's native homeland of New Zealand. The opening track of the album "Couldn't be Done" is an infectious and irresistible melody that definitely harkens back to his earlier work. "Winter Light", a haunting and rich song was featured in the box office hit The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe while "Salt to the Sea," deals with the emotional aftermath of Paul Hester's suicide. As for the title of the album, Finn comments, "For me Imaginary Kingdom is very much my place ... my place to go where there is music and where there is creativity." Although it's been 6 years since his last solo record, Tim has been anything but idle. In 2004 he reunited with his brother Neil for a Finn Brother's release EVERYONE IS HERE and staged a successful Split Enz Reunion tour in Australia. Fans will be happy to learn that Finn will kick off the release of IMAGINARY KINGDOM with his first solo U.S. dates since 2001.
