LONDON, UK (Radio 1) - Former East 17 frontman Brian Harvey has appeared in court charged with drugs offences.

Harvey, 27, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court in Essex, charged with possessing and supplying cocaine on 26 April this year. He was remanded on bail until 17 July when he will appear before magistrates at Harlow, in south Essex.
Harvey, of St John's Road, Walthamstow, east London, first appeared before Chelmsford magistrates three weeks ago.

Stormy

The singer enjoyed a string of hits with East 17 before he was sacked from the band in 1997. After the departure of songwriter Tony Mortimer he had further success with the re-named E17.

Harvey, who had a stormy relationship with soap actress Daniella Westbrook, recently made the top 20 with a song written by rap producer Wyclef Jean called Loving You.

In December 2001 the singer was attacked as he left a nightclub in Nottingham and required plastic surgery for a head wound.
