Mack is best known as Grammy Award Winner James Cotton's bassist and is a favorite at Chicago Blues Festivals. Next Generation Blues offers traditional as well as fresh, new insight into the blues, and it is jam packed with professional artists from the blues circuit, such as Billy Branch, Maurice John Vaughn, Mark Mack (drummer for James Cotton), and Keyboardist Brian James (Lonnie Brooks Band) to name a few.

Mack's band is seriously professional and polished, encompassing mixture of blues, funk, soul and rock. On tour Charles Mack is backed by horn section professionals Trumpeter Ron Haynes (of Lenny Kravitz Band) and Trombonist Johnny Cotton (formerly of James Cotton Band and presently with The Ohio Players).
