Elisabeth Withers Nominated For Bet Award

New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Blue Note Records) - The Black Entertainment Television channel has nominated R&B vocal sensation Elisabeth Withers for the BET J Cool Like That award, created to commemorate the 2006 re-launch of the former BET Jazz channel. Anthony Hamilton received the inaugural presentation of the award at last year's ceremony. Other 2007 nominees include: Gerald Levert, Brian McKnight, Eric Roberson, and Musiq Soulchild.

Elisabeth Withers' debut record, It Could Happen to Anyone with hit singles 'Simple Things' and 'Be with You', has been turning heads and moving up the charts at Urban Adult Contemporary radio. At the 2006 Tony Awards, multi-talented Elisabeth earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role as the seductive Shug Avery in the Broadway smash The Color Purple.

The 2007 BET Awards will air on Tuesday, June 26th at 8:00pm EST on BET. Pre show beginning at 6:00pm EST.
