NEW YORK (M. Branch Official Website) - Nineteen-year-old singer Michelle Branch will return to the recording studio next month to begin work on the follow-up to her platinum Maverick Records debut, The Spirit Room. Branch's debut album featured the hit singles " Everywhere" and "All You Wanted," as well as the latest single, " Goodbye To You". Branch said she had to make a tough choice earlier this year: either kick off a tour in support of The Spirit Room this summer, or start working on her next collection. The singer told about her final decision: "Yes, I'm going into the studio August 1st to start a new record. I was going to go on tour but it just didn't feel right. The last record that I had, The Spirit Room, I wrote a lot of the songs when I was 14, 15, 16, and I'm now 19, so I feel like my new songs have jumped leaps and bounds over the old record. So instead of touring, I decided that I was going to make a new record, and I'm very, very thrilled about it." Before heading back to the studio, Branch, who just celebrated her 19th birthday on July 2, will perform live at the Pantene Pro-Voice concert on Thursday (July 18) at Rumsey Playfield in New York City's Central Park.
