BURBANK, CA (Top40 Charts/ Reprise Records) - Idiot Pilot, an atmospheric rock duo from Bellingham, WA, will release their second album for Reprise Records, titled "Wolves," on August 21st.
Longtime friends and bandmates Daniel Anderson and Michael Harris, both 21, have crafted an album with strong roots in alternative rock and ambient sound, blending eerie electronica and shoegazing rock with their post-hardcore influences. Produced by Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, Glassjaw) and co-produced by Mark Hoppus (bassist for +44, Blink-182), "Wolves" takes the duo's sound to cinematic levels in both scope and vision. "I definitely feel like this album is a huge progression for us," Harris says. "This planet has only a few things that interest me - and music is the one thing that I will always be working on. This is what we live for."

"Wolves" is an album of many firsts for the duo, including the first to be recorded in a real studio. Their self-produced debut, "Strange We Should Meet Here," was recorded on pirated software in Anderson's bedroom when the two were still in their teens, and later re-released on Reprise in 2005.

In addition, "Wolves" - with its soaring symphonic opener "Last Chance" and anthemic rockers "In Record Shape" and "Red Museum" - marks the first time both Harris and Anderson were completely collaborative musically and features live drums, courtesy of Blink-182/Transplants/+44 drummer Travis Barker on "Elephant" and the Dillinger Escape Plan's Chris Pennie on the remaining tracks. Another song, "Retina and The Sky," is included on the soundtrack to the live-action robot fantasy film "Transformers," which will be released July 3rd, also on Warner Bros. Records.

Idiot Pilot has several upcoming tour dates in Northern California in July: three shows opening for +44 and one supporting Smashing Pumpkins. See below for details. For more on Idiot Pilot, please visit the band's website at www.idiotpilot.com.

July 5: Fresno, CA, The Star Palace (with +44)
July 6: Bakersfield, CA, The Dome (with +44)
July 7: Sacramento, CA, The Empire (with +44)
July 24: San Francisco, CA, The Fillmore (with Smashing Pumpkins)
