NEW YORK (RnB City Magazine) - What does Angie Stone have in common with Britney Spears? Like the belly-baring pop star-turned-actress, the R&B singer will add a new line to her resume when she takes a comedic turn opposite Rob Schneider in Disney's upcoming flick, The Hot Chick. "I play Madam Mambooza," says Stone, who portrays a pot-smoking, African shopkeeper in the February 2003 film. After hawking a pair of cursed earrings to a mean-spirited, self-centered blonde, Stone sparks a body switch between Schneider's gas-pumping alter ego and the popular high school cheerleader. Needless to say, chaos ensues and Stone partakes in her share of witty onscreen scenarios. "Rob thought I was very funny," she says, proudly. "He always said, 'You're a natural!'" The platinum-selling singer was so motivated by her co-star's praise that she's since signed on to two more yet-to-be-titled movies and is considering a part in the comedian's next project. "He told me, 'You watch what's going to happen,'" says Stone of her wisecracking mentor. "[Now] I want to go out there and give acting a serious shot." Or at least have the last laugh trying.
