NASHVILLE, tenn. (LeAnn Rimes Fans Website) - LeAnn Rimes seems to be trying to shake at least some of her country roots on her new album, Twisted Angel, which is said to meld pop, rock, and urban with just a hint of country.

The album, due Oct. 1 on Curb Records, also sees Rimes in a songwriter and producer role for the first time. She executive produced the album with producer-songwriters Desmond Child, Peter Amato, and Gregg Pagani, and co-wrote four of the album's 13 songs.

One of those four songs is the first single, "Life Goes On," which goes to radio on Aug. 5. The other three are "Wound Up," "No Way Out," and "Twisted Angel." She's currently in New Orleans shooting the video for the single with director Matthew Rolston (Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and Jewel).
