Notes of Interest:
Beyonce (No 1) tripped and fell down 12 steps onstage at an Orlando concert last week, propelling her to the top of this week's Lycos 50. Perhaps the fall alone wouldn't have inspired so much search activity, but an embarrassed Beyonce pleaded with her fans not post any videos of the fall on the Internet, propelling fans to post videos on the Internet even quicker. The fall also caused a spike in searches for YouTube (No 3), which has since yanked the clips from their site, claiming that the clips violated copyright. Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan (No 7), fresh out of rehab, jumps right back into the top 10 on The Lycos 50 after she allegedly commandeered an SUV and pursued a former assistant through Malibu and Santa Monica before being arrested for driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, and possession of cocaine. And as Muggles across the country poured over the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter (No 10) increased 41%. As a tribute to the final book in the series, and the current film, The Lycos 50 looks at the top 10 most popular Potter-related searches this week. Interestingly, Harry Potter's best friend, Ron Weasley, and arch nemesis, Lord Voldemort, did not even register a blip in search activity.

The Lycos 50 Top 10 Search Terms for the Week Ending July 28, 2007:
1) Beyonce
2) MySpace
3) YouTube
4) Pokemon
5) Paris Hilton
6) Poker
