SCOTTSDALE, AR. (Top40 Charts/ FMIC) - Fender Musical Instruments Corp. (FMIC) announces that the inaugural class of company innovators and leaders will be inducted into the Fender Hall of Fame on August 10 as part of the first ever Fender Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

The inaugural class includes: Clarence 'Leo' Fender, Charlie Hayes, Donald D. Randall, William C. 'Bill' Schultz, Freddie Tavares and Forrest White.

'It's important that we pay tribute to the individuals who—through their creativity, genius and dedication–designed and built the instruments and company that changed the way the world experiences music,' said Bill Mendello, chief executive officer and president of the board for FMIC. 'Because of their efforts, Fender enjoys the rich history and legacy that we so cherish today.'

The event will take place from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Virginia G. Piper Theater located at 7380 E. Second Street in Scottsdale, Ariz. Following a presentation of each individual's contributions to FMIC, company representatives and members of the nomination committee will induct inductees and family members. Additionally, the Fender 'House Band' will perform music during the processional and recessional.

The Fender Hall of Fame was created to honor and keep the memories alive of FMIC innovators and former leaders fresh in the minds of FMIC employees, to inspire those who follow in their footsteps, and to differentiate Fender from all others.

Nominees for the Fender Hall of Fame must be retired, and their service to FMIC should stand as a beacon of excellence beyond the conventional. An autonomous committee consisting of historians/experts reviewed the careers of people who have been recommended or are known, likely candidates. These candidates were vetted and then put forth to FMIC management for selection.
