LOS ANGELES (J5 Fans Website) - L.A.-based hip-hoppers Jurassic 5 admit that they were a bit weary of collaborating with Nelly Furtado on "Thin Line" from the group's forthcoming album, Power in Numbers, due Oct. 8 on Interscope Records. "We heard it through the grapevine that she was feeling us," J5's Zaakir told allstar at the Smokin' Grooves stop in Virginia. "It just really sounds like it's really from each other's soul." The group's Cut Chemist, however, admits he was initially wary of the pairing: "I didn't think actually she would be the one for the track. And then when we demoed her, I was just like, 'She was perfect for it.' So, I kind of ate my words on it." As for the rest of the album - which also features guest appearances and/or production help from Big Daddy Kane, Percy P, and the Beatnuts' JuJu - Zaakir says it's simply much more mature. "It's just something that's a change of pace for Jurassic 5 and that's what you should look for," he says. "Some growth. Some incredible growth." Power in Numbers track listing: 1. "This Is" 2. "Freedom" 3. "If You Only Knew" 4. "Break" 5. "React" 6. "A Day at the Races" (featuring Big Daddy Kane and Percy P) 7. "Remember His Name" 8. "What's Golden" (the first single from the album) 9.
