FRANKLIN, TN. (Top40 Charts/ PassAlong Networks) -
Music distribution developer PassAlong Networks™ today announced that it is spinning off Speakerheart™, an online platform for independent artists and bands to upload and sell their own music, as its own company, Speakerheart LLC.
"PassAlong Networks has always been passionate about connecting artists with fans, and empowering artists through Speakerheart is definitely part of that equation," said Dave Jaworski, co-founder and CEO of PassAlong Networks. "The market demand for this product warrants a staff that can dedicate its full efforts to establishing Speakerheart as the go-to site for independent musicians and their fans."
Speakerheart is a Rich Internet Application (RIA) built using Adobe® Flex™ software that enables independent artists to publish, promote and sell their music online. Artists can upload their own music, create track samples, set their own prices and sell it all side-by-side in custom storefronts. Additionally, artists can access sales reports and receive payments for their sales through the simplicity and security of PayPal.
Speakerheart artists also have access to promotional tools called Shelves, which can be pasted on any website that allows Adobe® Flash® software and includes many social networks, such as Facebook®, Friendster and MySpace™, plus artist blogs and fan sites.
Jozef Nuyens and Brad Edmonson will head the new company, Nuyens as CEO and Edmonson as President. Both are co-founders of PassAlong Networks. The initial Speakerheart team includes members with previous work experience at Microsoft, Perot Systems, Sprint, EA-Electronic Arts, William Morris Agency, Warner Chappell Publishing and Muzik Mafia, among others. Nuyens, an independent producer who owns The Castle Studios in Franklin, Tennessee, is currently on the Board of NARAS, the association that organizes the GRAMMY® Awards.
Speakerheart is in a closed beta period while it signs up artists for its platform. Participating artists range from new, emerging acts to well-established performers with dozens of albums and prior hit singles. Artists can now log in to reserve their storefront at www.Speakerheart.com.
