NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Commotion Records) - Commotion Records is pleased to announce the release of the soundtrack to the feature film "Broken English." The album features new music by Scratch Massive, including their take on the Marianne Faithful song "Broken English," alongside cuts by Juan Trip and I Am Kloot. The CD will be available in stores on August 28, 2007.

Scratch Massive heads up the darkly romantic electronica soundtrack to Zoe Cassavetes' film debut. The French DJ duo, comprised of Sebastien Chenut and Maud Geffray, earned its reputation playing their Naked Night sets at The Pulp club in Paris. The French Music Export has described their style as "Inspired by the specter of digital music, they have managed to blend cutting edge rhythmic and atmospheric melodies to create an exciting new sound, which is both romantic & full of raw energy."

That raw energy is the acoustic background against which this romantic comedy pulses. Zoe Cassavetes' directorial debut stars Parker Posey as single, 30-something Nora Wilder in a film that explores the difficulty of finding and maintaining love in the modern world. As she takes hold of chance and jumps from New York to Paris, Posey is joined in her travels by an all-star supporting cast that includes Drea DeMatteo ("The Sopranos," "The Good Life"), Josh Hamilton ("Diggers," "The House of Yes"), Gena Rowlands ("The Notebook," "A Woman Under the Influence"), Griffin Dunne ("Quiz Show," "After Hours"), David Lynch favorite Justin Theroux, and Parisian heartthrob Melvil Poupaud. The talented cast is put to good use in what Dennis Harvey (Variety) described as "a screenplay that nicely balances seriousness and wit."

Scratch Massive is joined on the soundtrack by the dreamy rhythms of the UK's I Am Kloot and the psychedelic sounds of Juan Trip. Also included is Scratch Massive's cover of Marianne Faithful's "Broken English," a dark and swirling counterpoint to the film's lighter moments. Sebastien Chenut describes, "If love becomes a stranger, if a stranger brings you love, this is the perfect music for the discovery."

"Music is more than just a soundtrack. It becomes an indispensable character in the story you can't live without," said Cassavetes. "It creates a mood, an inside look in the minds of the people in the film as well as touching something deep inside the viewer."

Commotion Records has a history of great soundtrack releases including "Mysterious Skin," "Happy Endings," "Code 46," "The Cooler," and Oscar Winning film "Hotel Rwanda." "Broken English," along with Commotion releases "The Ten" (Directed by David Wain with music from former Shudder to Think frontman Craig Wedren) and "Vacancy" (composed by Paul Haslinger), will be in stores on August 28, 2007.
