BURBANK, CA (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) -
Avenged Sevenfold will hit the road for a U.S. tour kicking off on October 29th in Los Angeles to promote their self-titled, self-produced album for Warner Bros. Records due out October 30th. "
Avenged Sevenfold" marks the Huntington Beach, CA quintet's fourth album, which is the follow-up to 2006's "City of Evil," that spawned three hit singles including the
Modern Rock smash "Bat Country," which also earned them a 2006 MTV Video
Music Award for "Best New Artist."
With "Avenged Sevenfold," the band - frontman M. Shadows, guitarists Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ, and drummer The Rev - let their eclectic musical influences come through. "All those months touring behind 'City of Evil,' we were listening to everything from Toby Keith to T.I., finding inspiring elements from other genres to incorporate into our music," says Shadows.
The band incorporated hints of country's narrative lyrics and twangy guitar tones as well as hip hop's powerful bottom end to add new dimension and range to their music. Despite embracing the gamut of musical inspirations, there is no doubt that the album is trademark Avenged Sevenfold rock. The New York Times calls the album "...an all-out bid for modern-rock radio hegemony."
The album's first single, "Almost Easy" hits radio on September 25th, while the album's lead track titled "Critical Acclaim" is currently available for purchase on iTunes and other online retailers.
A7X is known for electrifying live sets that hearken back to the days when arena rock shows were events of epic proportion. Indeed, fueled by their dynamic rock and rabid fan base, Avenged Sevenfold have done what few bands before have accomplished - to become the only band to headline Warped Tour and Ozzfest, and be No 1 on MTV's TRL at the same time.
