Brentwood, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Sparrow Records) - Excitement is definitely building for Switchfoot's charitable fall 2007 Appetite for Construction Tour with Relient K. Partnering with Habitat for Humanity, each band will donate one dollar from every ticket sold on the 30+ city trek across America to help provide affordable housing for low income families. A group statement from Switchfoot says, 'For us this tour carries more meaning than simply a reunion of friends. We're thrilled to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity ... (an) amazing organization committed to building homes for those in need here in the U.S. and abroad. It is also a chance for us all to get plugged in to being a part of the solution in our own communities.' Tickets are on sale now for the Appetite for Construction Tour which kicks off October 16 in Charleston, West Virginia, and wraps up December 3 in Everett, Washington. Soon after, Switchfoot will travel to Iraq and Kuwait to perform for American troops just before Christmas. Currently, Switchfoot is touring through Australia, New Zealand, and The Philippines in support of its sixth studio album, OH! GRAVITY, featuring the hit title track, 'Awakening,' and 'American Dream.' The project follows gold and platinum albums NOTHING IS SOUND ('Stars') and THE BEAUTIFUL LETDOWN ('Meant to Live') and is the San Diego quintet's most acclaimed set to date. Associated Press calls OH! GRAVITY 'an outstanding record in every sense ... Switchfoot seems to carry more substance and wit than most of their peers.' USA Today highlights the 'catchier-than-ever choruses' while The Trades says, 'Switchfoot has produced guitar-driven rock such as this in the past, but never with such vigorous urgency ... the music often features a punk back beat that makes you want to jump out of your seat (and) when the tunes settle down, things can get downright lovely.'
