Sydney, AU. (Top40 Charts/ EMI MUSIC Australia) - A sold out tour of several U.S cities, multiple Aria Award nominations, a song that's about to feature in a high rating US series and a new single all over Australian radio proves that life really is Peachy for Missy Higgins!
Missy will return home next week to start rehearsals for her '...For One Night Only' national tour that will roll around Australia shortly with special guest, Tim Rogers.
She is currently mid-way through a US tour in support of the 'teaser' release of her acclaimed album, 'On A Clear Night', through the Borders retail chain. Most of the dates have sold out well in advance. The album's full U.S release will follow in January 2008 by which time the disc is expected to be quadruple platinum here in Australia.
In a further sign of her growing Stateside buzz, Missy's top 10 Aussie hit 'Where I Stood' will feature in an episode of the acclaimed TV series 'Smallville' this week. The special episode will air to millions in the U.S on Thursday 18th October at 8pm (*7pm Central). Missy has also been personally invited by Los Angeles tastemaker station KCRW to give a special performance on the renowned 'Morning Becomes Eclectic' program on Wednesday 17th October. Those outside L.A. can check it out via www.kcrw.org A special video she made for the Elevate Film Festival also won an award recently in L.A.
Meanwhile back at home the third single from 'On A Clear Night' the live favourite 'Peachy' - has just been unleashed at radio and will be available in stores on November 10. Reaction to the song has been immediate with adds everywhere. Neil Finn makes a guest appearance on electric guitar in this 'pissed off yet feel good' pop song. It's coupled with the chaotic, fun, road trip inspired video clip directed by Aria Award winners Paul Goldman and Alice Bell (who also made Missy's 'Where I Stood' clip) which can be seen now on music video shows everywhere.
On the live front Missy's '...For One Night Only Tour' is selling fast with several dates already sold out. Tickets for the remaining shows are still on sale now. Missy will also appear at Legs 11 and the sold out Homebake Festival.
Missy will also perform on the 2007 Aria Awards held in Sydney on October 27th where she is nominated for Best Pop Release and Best Female Artist.
