MADISON, Wisc. (Top40 Charts/ Sony Creative Software) - Sony Creative Software, a leading provider of professional video and audio editing software applications, today announced the availability of the Rondo Brothers'
Seven Minutes To Midnight: Trip-Hop Loops & Samples royalty-free loop library collection. The collection marks the first time a complete audio album has been offered in sample form for remixing purposes.
The first pressing of the new title will be a limited edition release containing a special version of the Rondo Brothers Seven Minutes To Midnight audio CD, including three bonus tracks not available on the original domestic release.
'The Rondos are embracing fans' desire to remix and mash up music through the release of the Seven Minutes To Midnight: Trip-Hop Loops & Samples loop library collection,' said Dave Chaimson, vice president of global marketing for Sony Creative Software. 'We're pleased to be partnering with the Rondo Brothers to break new ground in music production through the release of a popular album in sample form for the first time.'
The Rondo Brothers are Jim Greer and Brandon Arnovick, Bay Area musicians and DJs who have produced albums and single tracks for such artists as MC Lars, Bernie Worrell Galactic, and Kid Beyond. The duo has also remixed the likes of the Common, New York Dolls, Madness, Rosemary Clooney, Billie Holiday, and Dean Martin. Also active in commercial work and indie films, the Rondos have scored spots for Toyota, the NHL, the NFL, Chevy, and Dodge. The Rondos have two full-length releases to their name. The first, No Time Left On Earth, was released in 2004, while their latest, the critically acclaimed Seven Minutes To Midnight, was released in May of 2007.
In conjunction with the release of Seven Minutes To Midnight: Trip-Hop Loops & Samples, Sony ACIDplanet.com is also featuring a Rondo Brothers Remix Contest. Going live today and running through midnight on November 22, 2007, participants can download a selection of loop content to create their submissions from the ACIDplanet.com contest page. The winning artist will be awarded a prize package that includes Rondo Brothers merchandise, a Sony PSP, a Sony Video Walkman, a Korg mini-KP effects processor, a year's subscription to Remix Magazine, and a host of Sony Creative Software products. For more information on the Seven Minutes To Midnight remix contest, visit the contest landing page.
The Rondo Brothers library is unlike any Sony Creative Software has released before. More than 600 megabytes of content are organized into folders that correlate to songs on Seven Minutes To Midnight, plus all the loops for one bonus song not included on the album. Within those folders are all the loop components needed to remix the entire record.
While many artists have released sample components for selected songs online, this marks the first time an artist has released an 'album-as-loop-library' in the retail space. Spanning a variety of popular genres - including funk, hip-hop, trip-hop, and electronica - the Rondo Brothers' library highlights a wide range of instrumentation, from traditional sounding guitars and pianos to abstract synthesizers and complex percussion patterns.
Formatted as ACIDized .wav, the library is ideal for use within Sony Creative Software's leading ACID loop-based music creation software and any other program that supports the .wav file format.
