NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Nashville Rescue Mission) - Country music superstar Tracy Lawrence will once again fry turkeys for the homeless men, women and children served by the Nashville Rescue Mission, Monday, November 19 in the Mission's parking lot at 639 Lafayette St. in Nashville. This is the second year for the Tracy Lawrence Mission Possible special Thanksgiving event, held to create awareness of the services provided by the Mission as well as the ongoing need for contributions and community support for this organization. 'Last year was our rookie year for this event,' says Lawrence. 'and it was very successful in raising awareness of and funds for the Nashville Rescue Mission. We set a goal of frying 100 birds last year and we ended up frying 235 birds thanks to the kind, on-the-spot donations of numerous Nashvillians and local businesses. We plan to expand the event a little each year with the long-term dream of turning the Monday of Thanksgiving week each year into a day of awareness and giving to people in need across the entire United States. I plan to break my current record this year and go for 400 birds that day. We want local residents to come by, throw us a wave or toss out hello,' and drop off canned food items, clothing, personal items, or cash donations. We had a huge turnout last year. I want it to be even bigger this year.' A host of generous local and national sponsors are stepping up to support this event. The first on the list of confirmations includes Crisco, Cargill, Inc. and WSIX-FM's nationally-syndicated Big D & Bubba on-air duo. A complete list of sponsors and the detail of their participation will be announced in a separate release. Big D and Bubba from The Big 98-WSIX will be on site from 11am - 1pm with regular broadcast reports live throughout the mid-day show. The Nashville Rescue Mission feeds an average of 1,300 people daily, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The need is ongoing. 'If we work together,' says Lawrence 'the Mission Is Possible.'
