(Top40 Charts/ Hard Rock International) - Hard Rock Hotel San Diego announced today the official launch of its "Battle of the Bands" contest opportunity in which one lucky band will win the chance to perform at the December 12 Grand Opening party of the highly anticipated Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. The hotel has confirmed that the Grammy� award-winning musical group, the Black Eyed Peas, will headline the exclusive bash. Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is partnering with AudioStreet.net, home to over 60,000 independent bands, to host the online contest to determine which ambitious group of musicians possesses the talent for this career-making opportunity. Hard Rock Hotel San Diego opens its doors this November to offer guests the ultimate rock star experience through cutting-edge contemporary design, envelope-pushing creations and superior customer service. The 12-story, 315,000-square-foot property features 420 guest rooms with 17 Rock Star Suites, including one Rock Star Suite designed specifically by the Black Eyed Peas. The property also boasts Nobu restaurant from celebrated chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Maryjane's Coffee Shop, Sweetwater Saloon and Moonstone Lounge from nightlife impresario Rande Gerber, Rock Spa and Folsom music venue, all centrally located within the city's famed Gaslamp Quarter.

By teaming up with AudioStreet.net, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego will tap into one of the internet's fastest growing online music communities. In addition to the more than 60,000 independent artists, AudioStreet has over 500,000 registered members who generate hundreds of thousands of song plays and millions of page views each month. The promotion kicked off on AudioStreet on October 15, culminating with the winning band being announced on December 3.
