Waterloo, Ontario (Top 40 Charts/ SuperMegaUltraGroovy) - SuperMegaUltraGroovy today announced the immediate availability of FuzzMeasure Pro 3, the award-winning audio and acoustical signal-analysis software package for Mac OS X Leopard.
FuzzMeasure Pro 3 builds on the success of FuzzMeasure Pro 2 by adding an array of frequently requested professional tools. Among these new features is a live Sound Pressure Level meter that can be calibrated in the field. The calibration can then be used to produce accurate SPL vs frequency graphs. The SPL meter will aid live sound engineers in monitoring sound levels at multiple positions in a large venue.
Seasoned FuzzMeasure users will appreciate the extensive list of improvements to the solid foundation in FuzzMeasure Pro 2. In FuzzMeasure Pro 3, users can now add, average, convolve, and correlate measurements to illustrate interactions between multiple systems, such as speakers and crossovers. In addition, FuzzMeasure Pro 3 includes the ability to produce group delay, and harmonic distortion graphs for exploring nonlinear behavior in audio systems.
FuzzMeasure Pro 3 has been re-engineered to take full advantage of Leopard, Apple's latest major release of Mac OS X. FuzzMeasure now supports sophisticated Spotlight searches, and provides QuickLook functionality for easily locating and viewing FuzzMeasure documents in the Finder. Its user interface fits in beautifully with the Leopard desktop.
FuzzMeasure Pro 3 launches on the three-year anniversary of its 2004 debut. Since that time, FuzzMeasure has grown from highly specialized impedance measurement software for loudspeaker builders to a well-regarded general-purpose audio and acoustical measurement tool used throughout various industries.
FuzzMeasure earned the title of runner-up at the 2006 Apple Design Awards in the Scientific Computing Solution category. 'The award validated all the hard work I put into changing the way researchers, engineers, and hobbyists perform their audio measurements,' says Chris Liscio, the founder of SuperMegaUltraGroovy. 'It certainly went a long way toward growing my customer base, which led to even more feedback from users that helped me craft FuzzMeasure into their ideal tool.'
While not originally aimed at the live sound industry, key users found that it could be used in the field to answer important questions about their audio setups. Feedback and suggestions from this new segment of users led directly to the new calibrated Sound Pressure Level meter.
'I've just used FuzzMeasure on the Australian leg of the Linkin Park tour to help me tune the PA,' says Ewan McDonald, a Senior Audio Engineer at Norwest Productions. 'FuzzMeasure provides an amazingly simple and accurate tool to help me tune and time align a PA without annoying everyone in the room with constant pink noise. It has the most elegant user interface of any piece of measurement software on the market - all at a fraction of the cost.'
FuzzMeasure Pro 3 costs $150 for new users; current registered users can upgrade for $75. Users that purchased since June 1, 2007 will receive a free upgrade. Please visit www.fuzzmeasure.com for further details. Mac OS X version 10.5 (Leopard) is required to use FuzzMeasure Pro 3. Apple, Leopard, Finder, and Mac OS X are trademarks of Apple Inc.
