SANTA MONICA, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Recording Academy) - The Recording Academy will be honored on the occasion of its milestone 50th Celebration by the Hollywood Historic
Trust and Honorary Mayor of Hollywood Johnny Grant, in recognition of its groundbreaking contributions within the music industry. From professional development and cultural enrichment programs to advocacy, education and human services programs, The Academy will be the first music organization to receive an Award of
Excellence on Hollywood Boulevard, joining many of the luminaries the organization holds as its members. The Award of
Excellence will be unveiled on Thursday, Nov. 29, 11:30 a.m. at 7018-7024 Hollywood Blvd. (in front of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce offices). Accepting the honor will be President/CEO of The Recording Academy, Neil Portnow; Chair of The Recording Academy, Jimmy Jam; and other special guests to be announced.
