Brentwood, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Sparrow Records) - On the heels of three No 1 singles from its most recent and popular album to date, leading Christian rock act Sanctus Real will release an all-new long player entitled WE NEED EACH OTHER on February 12, 2008 via Sparrow Records and launch a North American tour with
Third Day that same month.
Thematically, WE NEED EACH OTHER makes a call for spiritual unity, tuning listeners in to the healing process that follows the real-life heartaches that were a major theme of Sanctus Real's 2006 album, THE FACE OF LOVE, featuring the chart-toppers 'I'm Not Alright,' 'Don't Give Up,' and title track.
'There's a longing for something bigger than oneself, a band, a song or a crowd of concertgoers,' explains lead singer Matt Hammitt. 'We need to come together as the body of Christ, unifying to see God's work done through us. There's so much truth in the simple statement, 'we need each other.' We can accomplish so much more if we stand together as one.'
The project's first single, 'We Need Each Other,' is already a Top 5 hit (the band's twelfth to date) and climbing at Christian radio. Other key songs on the set include 'Half Our Lives' (with guest vocalist Katie Herzig) and opening track 'Turn on the Lights' featuring bluesy lead guitar licks.
Pre-orders for WE NEED EACH OTHER are happening now at MusiChristian.com. Sanctus Real also begins a 16-city headline tour in January before joining Third Day for 35 shows through April. The group has signed with Red Light Management whose artists include Third Day and Dave Matthews Band.
'Red Light insists on working with and developing the best of the best-Sanctus Real is a prime example of that,' says the company's Shawn McSpadden. 'We feel Sanctus Real is the poster band for why the contemporary Christian genre continues to be one of the most successful in the changing climate of the music industry.'
A radio favorite since its 2002 major label debut, Sanctus Real received 2005's Modern Rock Album of the Year Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association for its second release, FIGHT THE TIDE and in 2006 was named Most Played Artist in the Christian Hit Radio format by R&R magazine. THE FACE OF LOVE also garnered the five-man group significant coverage at mtvU and other mainstream media outlets.
