SAN DIEGO, California (Top40 Charts/ Populuxe Records) - January 22nd marks the official US release of the Truckee Brothers "Double Happiness" album on Populuxe Records distributed through Redeye Distribution. Adding to the momentum of the long awaited release, the Truckee Brothers are embarking on a cross country tour with troubadour, Steve Poltz, pulling double duty as both his opening act and as his backing band. It's a double shot of Truckee trouble that's sure to bring "Double Happiness" to listeners coast to coast.
The album was originally slated for release in 2007 but due to Populuxe's merger with Redeye, the hard copy release was postponed. The album was released digitally along with the bonus EP which consists of six songs titled "In Pursuit of Happiness" in August of 2007 to throngs of fans who began downloading the double releases immediately through iTunes, Amazon Digital, eMusic and Yahoo Music among other digital outlets. Patient fans will be rewarded on January 22nd with a complete repackaging of the CD release as a mini version of the old 70's gate-fold vinyl albums which will be available at most retail outlets and online.
January 22nd will also mark the beginning of a Truckee Brothers tour that will run from Jan 29th to the end of March landing the boys in Texas for the 2008 South by Southwest Music Festival and Conference and then on into Arizona. The tour will begin as self described "Lewis and Clark" version of the band with Cady and Peat heading out ahead of the other two members performing as a duo opening act for the singer / songwriter Steve Poltz and then joining him onstage as his backing band with Peat on drums and the ever talented Cady performing on up to four other instruments at once!
The Truckee Brothers opening sets will give the boys an opportunity to not only treat fans to tracks from "Double Happiness" but also to revisit some old songs, try out some new songs and if you're lucky, you might even see a visit from Wirepony and Atom Orr.
