LONDON, U.K. (Top 40 Charts/ WebIt PR) - NOTION Music, a leading maker of music composition and performance software, announces that two of its products have received recognition from Curriculum Online as National Curriculum-approved music resources for Key Stage 3 and beyond. Both NOTION 2.0 and PROTÉGÉ 2.0 support the curriculum taught in England, and can be purchased by schools via their electronic Learning Credits (eLCs) to enable pupils to engage and have fun with music.

'We are pleased to receive this accreditation.' says Kris Karra, Managing Director for NOTION Music UK. 'Music - classical or popular - has much to offer. Not only is it educational, it improves concentration, and encourages children to expand their horizons. What's more, collective music making creates a sense of team spirit and achievement which can be invaluable to a child's development.'

Curriculum Online is central to the Government's drive to transform teaching and learning in schools by improving access to ICT and multimedia resources for all pupils. To help bring about this aim, the Government set aside substantial funds in the form of eLCs for schools to spend on multimedia resources. Curriculum Online lists all multimedia resources to support teaching and learning that schools can buy with its eLCs and other funds.

NOTION 2.0 and PROTÉGÉ 2.0 are both advanced music programs that allow children and adults alike to learn about, compose and perform music. Both programs are easy to use, and pupils can use the software to create and conduct original compositions from a sound library recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra. In addition the software can be used as a teaching tool for music teachers to accompany students with a full orchestra and control the tempo. It can also be used to help pupils build music theory skills, enabling them to develop better musicianship.

NOTION Music is currently exhibiting at BETT Show 2008 (Stand Q62) where it is demonstrating these products, along with PROGRESSION, a composition program designed specifically for guitarists that was launched at the end of last year.
NOTION 2.0 is available to schools for 199 and PROTÉGÉ 2.0 for 42. Both products can be purchased via the NOTION Music website: www.notionmusic.co.uk.
