NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Universal Motown Records) - Superstar singer/songwriter Michael McDonald has scored the rarest of radio feats this week, debuting on 3 different radio charts with 3 different singles, all culled from his upcoming Universal Motown debut, Soul Speak, which is due in stores on March 11.

The 'triple play' pulled off by McDonald includes his version of the Jackie Wilson classic 'Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher And Higher,' which debuted at No 21 on the Adult Contemporary chart. His raved about rendition of the Teddy Pendergrass gem, 'Love TKO,' impressively cracked the Adult R&B chart at No 39, with McDdonald's soulful take on the song 'Walk On By,' made famous by vocal legend Dionne Warwick, kicking off at No 28 on the Hot Contemporary Jazz chart. The latter single marks the first time McDonald has appeared on the Hot Contemporary Jazz chart.

Indicative of Soul Speak's breathtaking range of soul-tinged 'cover' songs, the new album also features 3 new songs by the legendary singer/songwriter. Owner of one of the most distinctive voices in music history, McDonald has referred to the new CD as 'a true labor of love,' – one of those rare works of genuine inspiration by an artist whose two previous 'cover' salutes, Motown (2003), and Motown Two (2004), were both Top 15 Billboard Hits.

Produced by frequent Eric Clapton collaborator Simon Climie, the new disc burnishes McDonald's flawless vocal delivery over an array of other inspired nuggets made famous by legends such as Stevie Wonder ('Living For The City'), Van Morrison ('Into The Mystic'), Bob Marley ('Redemption Song') and Leonard Cohen ('Hallelujah'). McDonald's 3 new offerings on the album are 'Only God Can Help Me Now,' 'Enemy Within,' and 'Can't Get Over You (Getting Over Me).'
