NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Pineapple/Atlantic recording group Louis XIV has unveiled details of their upcoming North American headline tour. The dates celebrate the release of the San Diego-based rock 'n' roll band's eagerly awaited second album, "SLICK DOGS AND PONIES," which arrives online and in stores on January 29th.
The headline dates will kick off on March 4th at Tucson's Club Congress, and then continue through a March 19th show at Toronto's Mod Club (see attached itinerary). Ticket pre-sales will start on January 25th at 10AM in the time zone of the performance via https://tix.concertmaps.com/louisxiv. All remaining tickets will then be made available to the public on Saturday, January 26th. Atlantic labelmates Carolina Liar will be joining Louis XIV as the tour opener, giving audiences a preview of their own forthcoming debut album, expected out later this year. Details for the second leg of the headlining trek will be announced in early February.
Louis XIV is currently in the midst of a major North American tour alongside Editors and Hot Hot Heat, with dates running through a Valentine's Day finale at Las Vegas' House of Blues on February 14th. "Louis XIV brought the most spark and intrigue to the stage," declared LiveDaily.com, reviewing the tour's opening night in Ft. Lauderdale. "The band has a newly refined vibrancy, replete with string-heavy experiments, that brought an added dimension to this group."
"SLICK DOGS AND PONIES" - which features the No 1 Specialty Charts hit, "Guilt By Association" - is currently streaming in its entirety at the band's MySpace page, located at www.myspace.com/louisxiv. The companion video for "Guilt By Association" will premiere this Friday, January 25th, at AOL's Spinner.com.
In addition, the album's next single, "Air Traffic Control," is set to impact at Alternative Rock radio outlets nationwide next week. Louis XIV recently introduced fans to the track - which is already scoring play at such influential stations as Los Angeles' Indie 101.3, Boston's WFNX, and San Diego's KZBT - with a performance on NBC's "Late Show with Conan O'Brien."
"SLICK DOGS AND PONIES" is available now for pre-orders as either a CD or 12" vinyl through the band's webstore at www.louisxiv.net/store. Fans who pre-order the album will instantly receive digital downloads of "Guilt By Association," "Air Traffic Control," and album track "There's A Traitor In This Room" as well as a 12" vinyl copy of their EP, "THE DISTANCES FROM EVERYONE TO YOU." Bigger, bolder, and more ambitious than its breakthrough 2005 predecessor, "THE BEST LITTLE SECRETS ARE KEPT," "SLICK DOGS AND PONIES" sees Louis XIV bravely setting forth towards new sonic terrain. Louis XIV spent much of 2005 and 2006 on the road, knocking out audiences in North America, Europe, and Asia as headliners, festival show-stealers, and special guests to such like-minded outfits as Hot Hot Heat and The Killers. The band capped off its endless tour in mid-2006 by sharing the stage with David Bowie and Alicia Keys at the Keep A Child Alive Foundation's annual "Black Ball" fundraising concert at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom.
