Alicia Keys announced today the
Alicia Keys As I Am Tour presented by Lexus. The tour, which is one of the most highly anticipated tours of the year, will build upon the unparalleled success of Keys' latest album, As I Am, and continue her reign as one of the mostprolific performers and songwriters of this generation.
The buzz for the U.S. tour started when Keys recently announced her European tour, which begins on February 25th and makes visits to cities including Glasgow, Copenhagen, Zurich, Paris and Milan. The U.S. and Canadian portion of the Alicia Keys As I Am Tour presented by Lexus kicks off on April 19th in Hampton, VA. Enjoying one of the most phenomenally successful years of her career as a performer, producer and songwriter, Keys, who has won nine Grammys and has sold over 40 million albums and singles worldwide, is one of the most celebrated recording artists in the world. Her new album, As I Am, continues its success this week claiming the No 1 spot on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart selling over 2.7 million since its November 13th, 2007 release, when it debuted at No 1 on the Billboard charts with sales of over 740,000 albums. Always a Grammy favorite, Keys recently received two nominations for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song for "No One." The 50th Annual Grammy Awards airs live on CBS on February 10th at 8:00 PM ET with Keys performing.
Keys will also perform at the SUPER BOWL XLII PREGAME SHOW at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, which will air live on Fox, Sunday, February 3rd. BET also recently honored Keys for her invaluable contributions to the world of entertainment at the first annual BET Honors that airs February 22nd on BET.
