BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Reprise Records) - Brooklyn's The Honorary Title have just announced an extensive U.S. tour in support of their major-label debut, "Scream and Light Up the Sky," which was released by Reprise Records on August 28th, 2007. The band will hit the road on March 16th with Mae, Between the Trees, and Far-Less after a series of headlining dates (more information to follow with additional dates).
In addition, the band, which is Jarrod Gorbel (vocals, guitar), Aaron Kamstra (bass, keyboards), Jonathan Wiley (guitar, keyboards), and Adam Boyd (drums), have just posted a sneak peak at the playful new video for "Stuck at Sea" on their MySpace page https://www.myspace.com/thehonorarytitle. The creative, humorous clip features performance footage interspersed with the band members interacting with a barrage of aggressive dancing letters.
The Honorary Title recently performed at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival as part of a special three-night live-music event entitled "Where Music Meets Film: Live From the ZonePerfect Bar" airing February 4th on Fuse at 7:00 EST (check local listings), and repeating several times throughout the week. They will also make an appearance in an episode of the CW's hit show "One Tree Hill," which airs on Tuesday, February 12th at 9/8c.
The follow-up to 2004's "Anything Else But the Truth," "Scream and Light Up the Sky," which was produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith, Beck), has received a warm reception from critics. CMJ praised it for "capturing a significantly fuller sound... that showcases their individual talents, from singer/songwriter Jarrod Gorbel's ultra-personal lyrics to bassist/keyboardist Aaron Kamstra's classically influenced instrumentals."
